Do you want to use a pre-measured
package in a side by side kit?
The epoxy you are looking at may be
available in 1:1, 2:1, 4:1 or 10:1 ratios. If that is the case, you should be
able to use a dispenser that will be less capital cost but more expensive to
feed. The old adage is true - pay now or pay later. If your adhesive
manufacturer does not "down package" the material you need, IDS can do that for
you. Just click here.
Do you want to buy your materials in
bulk and save in the long run?
A meter mix and dispense system is the
answer for you. For small runs and precise shots, the all mechanical
Volumetric Dispenser might be an excellent
solution for the standard 1:1, 2:1, 4:1 and 10:1 ratios in bi-packs, or side by
side cartridges.
Is the ratio of Part A and Part B fairly
close?
If the ratios are close, you can consider
using a side by side cartridge and a static mixer to dispense the material. This
can best be done with the IDS Dual Volumetric Air
Free Dispenser.
If the amount of Part A to Part B you need
to dispense is in wide proportion (say 50:1 or higher) or if you are planning
heavy use, you should consider one of our Meter Mix
Dispense Systems. Because the size and configuration are so complicated, it
would be best to fill out the IDS Dual Component Worksheet and submit it to us.
IDS
will contact you with our ideas and if there are further questions that need to
be answered. A quote will follow.
Whether you use a hand held gun or a
sophisticated Meter Mix System, you will most likely need to consider the method
with which you will dispense the material. In most cases, it will be through a
Static Mixer. Static-mixing nozzles are available in two
inside-diameter sizes of bell-mouth:
Yellow Nozzles are for our meter-mix machines.

more information.
Blue Nozzles are for other meter-mix machines.

Static-mixing elements inside the body of the nozzle are manufactured from high
grade polyacetal to withstand the higher pressures of meter-mix machines;
static-mixer housings are polypropylene. Luer-lock static-mixers are also
available for fine bead applications using luer-lock tips; note part numbers
with an “LL” suffix. if you use a Luer fitting, you can then use any of the IDS
Dispense Tips or
Needles.
