You asked for help with WATERY materials.

We have determined that your material is very thin, almost watery. Following are some of the rules and tips that our customers have found useful over the years. The hyperlinks will bring you to the page where the components are shown in detail.

Use your back arrow to return here.

If this material is a Cyanoacrylate (crazy glue or CA) or another material that activates with air or moisture, or reacts to metal, then you will need a dispenser that will handle the properties peculiar to it.

To dispense a very thin material properly, you now need to decide whether you want to use a syringe based dispenser or whether you should use a dispense valve with a controller and a pressure pot. Here are some things to consider:

Syringe dispensing of Cyanoacrylates:

In some cases, an inexpensive syringe based dispenser is used to dispense a CA or very thin material with exceptional grabbing power. The syringe is loaded and kept upright and the material is dispensed WITHOUT using a piston in the syringe barrel. The reason for this, of course, is that the glue will grab your piston and glue it to the wall, or build up a ridge on the interior of the syringe that will break the air tight seal necessary for it to work properly. The dispense tip in this case should be a Teflon tip.

Valve dispensing of Cyanoacrylates:

Consider our two mainstays in the dispensing of CA; the Diaphragm Valve and the Pinch Tube Valve. Both can be safely used with CA materials and safe pressure chambers.

Other thin materials:

If the material is just thin, but not a CA, the valves mentioned above will work and the pressure pots will be good too. Also, the other IDS valves and syringe dispensers with a tight seal such as our front closing valve should work fine. Dispense through any of our IntelliSpense dispense tips.
