Sometimes referred to as Adapter Heads, Adapter Assemblies or Receiver Heads, this is the part that connects your syringe to the dispenser. Air is then pulsed into the syringe and pushes the piston down the barrel, extruding material as it goes. The syringe must be connected to an air supply and held snugly, to prevent air loss. The Syringe Adapter Assembly (shown below) is consists of:

• Adapter Head (shown below, it functions as a gripper to securely fasten the syringe)
• Air hose, connects the syringe to the controller (the clear tubing).
• The connector that connects tubing and holder to the controller. The air supply is delivered to the piston inside the syringe, as shown below.
• The piston then pushes the material forward.
• O-rings come in two types of material for fluid compatibility. They keep the syringe snug in the adapter. Replace when worn.

IDS Adapter Assemblies fit most standard pneumatic (air powered) dispensers. We have constructed them to be as universal as possible and make them simple to use at the same time. Each Adapter Head comes with a unique tabbed end piece, which will allow you to use with both twist lock and stab lock connectors. If your current dispenser does not need the "twist lock" that many use, simply snip off the Adapter Tabs (pictured, above, right) and push into the dispenser connection.
